Karen has a degree from University of Utah and is certified in human resource. She has been working in the dental field just under a decade and loves every minute of it. Her favorite thing about a dental office is the staff. If they are all working together they make beautiful music that can compete with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. During her free time she picks up an interesting book or explores the hills of Corner Canyon on her mountain bike.

Ellya attended Fortis College and graduated with her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene. Prior to becoming a dental hygienist, she attended the JTECH program at Salt Lake Community College while in high school and became a dental assistant. She was a dental assistant for 5 years and worked with both general dentists and periodontists. Her main interest was in perio and that’s what drove her to become a hygienist. Although she loved assisting in surgeries, she wanted to further her career by providing treatment to patients herself. Ellya has always found that she’s had a big interest in the medical field even at a young age, and truly enjoys helping individuals and caring for them.
One of her favorite things about working with Dr. Lucero is that he keeps up with the latest technology in dentistry and she takes many continuing education courses to provide optimal care for patients. Ellya thrives on making dental visits for patients easy, comfortable, and enjoyable.
When Ellya is not working, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and corgi!
